Stuffel FAQs
Where are Stuffel bags made?
Every Stuffel bag is handmade in a family-run factory in the heart of a valley in Staffordshire, England. It really is as beautiful as it sounds!
We source the cotton from a company in the northwest - less than an hour from the factory - and the cord and labels are made in Malvern, Worcestershire and Pembrokeshire, Wales, respectively.
What are Stuffel bags made from?
Stuffel bags are made from a durable 100% cotton canvas. The cord is nautical grade - it is actually designed for the dinghy sailor, so it's super strong and supple!
What are the dimensions of a Stuffel bag?
When opened up for play the Stuffel Large has a diameter of 100cm, which we find is perfect to allow for maximum rummaging, without taking up too much floor space. The outer rim is 6cm high.
The Stuffel Mini has a diameter of 44cm when laid flat, and the rim is 9cm high.
As Stuffels are made by hand, not mass produced, there may of course be very slight variations to this!
How much Lego can a Stuffel bag hold?
Great question!
The Stuffel Large happily holds about 6kg of Lego (give or take a few generous handfuls). This equates to a heaped medium IKEA Trofast box and gives enough weight for the Stuffel to pull closed easily, but allows enough space for the Lego to be rummaged through.
We have a video demonstrating what this looks like, which you can view here: Let's have a look!
How do you tie a Stuffel bag?
When play time is over, pull up the drawstring and simply tie in a 'granny knot' or hang it up on a hook or door knob for easy storage.
The Stuffel Mini also has two chunky toggles to make it even easier to keep those little toys safely stored.
Can you wash a Stuffel bag?
Sure thing! We recommend spot cleaning if just a small part of your Stuffel is dirty.
But if necessary your Stuffel can be machine washed at 30 degrees and line dried, then re-shaped whilst damp.
Stuffel fabric may fade slightly over time if left in a sunny spot.
4 kids each - any tips?
Nothing useful ... embrace chaos, inhale caffeine, and prioritise play over tidying; a Stuffel or three will help. ;)
I have more questions! Can we chat?
